VALLEY OF FLOWERS – HANUMANCHATTI –BADRINATH TREK

It is a very memorable, exciting, beautiful and most thrilling high altitude trek from Hanumanchatti to valleylowers via the famous Khuntkhal . The trail passes through ice, snow, moraines, rivers, streams, high pasture lands and fabulous mountain scenery. Fundamental knowledge of mountaineering is a must for this trek. At certain places rope has to be fixed to cross deep crevasses. At a few places recurrent ice falls can cause some trouble. The actual trek starts from Hanuman chatty 33 km from Joshimath and 283 km from Rishikesh. Essential provisions, rations, porters, guides, etc Permit is also required from the Divisional forest officer, Nanda Devi National Park, Joshimath which can be obtained after remitting requisite fee,. Hanumanchatti Valley of Flowers- trekFrom Hanumanchatti to Palsi Udiar it is a 8 km steep ascent and a further 8 km gradual ascent leads to Kuntakhal Pass (4430). This Pass was also used by both Longstaff’s and Smyth’s parties on their way down to Hanumanchatti in the Alaknanda valley. From the pass to Kuntkhal it is a 3 km steep descent and a further 10 km gradual ascent leads to Tirpa Kharak.
